ISS BioSense s.r.l. is a new high-tech SME located in Naples, Italy. The company was born on the initiative of a group of young scientists that decided to apply the expertise acquired in research institutions to biosensors design and development. For the advancement of its projects, ISS BioSense operates in synergy with national and international Research Institutions as well as with private enterprises.
The main cultural and technological assets of ISS BioSense are its knowledge and expertise about the use and the manipulation of molecules of biological origin to develop highly specific and sensitive sensors. Ongoing projects in this area are exploring the use of enzymes and apo-enzymes, natural and recombinant antibodies, odorant binding proteins and GPCR receptors.
ISS BioSense has in house expertise on the utilization of a variety of measurement techniques, particularly fluorescence based, to be exploited in the design and construction of sensing devices. The collaboration with various research laboratories and in particular with the ISS Inc, Il (USA), ensures that ISS BioSense keeps its expertise updated with the new knowledge developed in the field of biosensors and that it has access to the facilities required for the development of prototype devices.In addition to making direct investments in its own projects, ISS participates as a partner in projects funded by public and/or private institutions both Italians (regional and national) and International. Finally, it also executes studies, research and development under contracts with private companies.
